WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE 2013-14 SEASON?

    - Continue to podium at World Cup events.

    - Qualify for the 2014 Olympic games in Sochi, Russia.

    - Bring home Olympic medals.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO SPEEDSKATING?

My parents both competed on quad skates when they were younger so I grow up around skating and eventually became an inline speed skater that made the switch to ice.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE SPEEDSKATING MOMENT?

Winning the 2013 World Sprint Championship on home ice in Salt Lake City.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH ON THE ICE?

Continuing to build speed in the corners and carrying it out on to each straight away.

WHAT IS A CHALLENGE THAT YOU HAD TO OVERCOME?

The biggest challenge I have had to overcome is switching from inline to ice speedskating to live my Olympic dream.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF SPEEDSKATING?

My favorite part of speedskating would be that all of the long track races are against the clock so the fastest person on that day is always the winner.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PRE-GAME MEAL?

The night before a competition I like to have any kind of pasta dish.

    WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MANTRA?

Good things come to those who wait, but great things come to those who DO.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT FOOD?

My favorite cheat food would be ice cream.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN THE OFF-SEASON?

During my off season I really enjoy going home and spending all the time I can my family and friends.

WHO IS THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN YOUR LIFE AND WHY?

My Mom! She is extremely hard working and handles stressful situations like a champ! She has made me the person I am today.

WHAT IS SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS?

Most people are really shocked to find out I have koi fish tattooed on the top of my feet.

    WHAT IS YOUR CHARITY INVOLVEMENT?

Guided Post of Strength, a cancer based organization that provides directions to close family members and friends.

WHAT IS A TRAINING TIP THAT YOU WOULD GIVE TO OTHERS?

Always come to practice with one thing you want to work on or achieve.

    WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVATIONAL TOOLS?

For motivation I usually like to re watch a race that was really good just to remember how great I felt at that moment.

WHAT IS A NUTRITION TIP THAT YOU WOULD GIVE TO OTHERS?

Refuel right away! I like to refuel with a bowl of Wheaties with a few banana slices and strawberries.
