How did you get into speedskating?

I began inline speed skating in 1996 in my hometown of Ocala, FL. For twelve years I competed at the regional, national, and world level. I competed at the World CHampionships from 2002-2008. While in college, after the 2008 World Championships, I decided to hang up my skates and turn all of my focus to school and basketball with hopes of taking my basketball abilities to a professional team overseas. After watching the 2010 Winter Games and my college graduation just months away I had a change of heart as to which journey I was going to take. I decided to move to Salt Lake City in 2012 and utilize the WHIP program to get me on my feet in hopes of one day becoming an Olympian.
